Advancing Black and Latine homeownership to address housing disparities in Wisconsin

Role: Design Researcher and Project Lead

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) partnered with Greater Good Studio to undertake a collaborative, human-centered initiative addressing housing disparities experienced by Black and Latine homebuyers. I supported the team as design researcher and project lead to learn directly from Black and Latine homeowners and housing professionals across the product and services ecosystem, and co-develop community-informed solutions to be launched at scale throughout the state.

Understanding worker experience & career progression through a new framework

Role: Design Researcher

I supported Opportunity@Work research and development efforts as part of the Greater Good Studio team. Publishing their STAR Barriers and Breakthroughs framework in 2024, we conducted research with people skilled through alternative routes (STARs) rather than a college degree, to better understand their lived experiences with career progression and economic mobility.

Role: Project Lead and Design Strategist

Melanie Goodchild is a changer maker in residence with a global philanthropy who partnered with Greater Good Studio to develop a visual communication tool that shares her pathway to decolonizing systems, complexity, and sustainability science. I led the design team to collaborate on different conceptual iterations conveying the features of her new curriculum, and the visualization of “Niigani Miinigowiziiwin (We Give These Gifts to the Future); a story-based work used in a cohort or individual setting.

Co-defining design principles for equitable digital tools and spaces with diverse youth

Role: Design Researcher and Strategist

Emerging technologies have the potential to transform learning experiences in diverse classrooms, but also risk perpetuating existing inequities and lasting harm. As part of the Greater Good Studio team, we conducted research with students, teachers, edtech companies, and other experts, and developed design principles to guide building equitable digital writing platforms.

Funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation from 2021-2022.
